In adolescence, it is common for pimples and imperfections to appear, motivated by the hormonal changes that occur in our body, although they also become visible frequently in adulthood. Where? Where we have more sebaceous glands: face, chest and back. But, as is logical, the alarm is usually turned on when they are present in the most visible area, the face.

We give you a series of recommendations, both for when they are already visible and to minimize the appearance of them:

↓ Do not touch the pimples: it promotes inflammation and can increase the infection. That way you will avoid, in large part, the scars.

↓ Do not share lipsticks, cosmetics that you touch with your fingers, products applied with roll-on, tweezers for your eyebrows …

↓ Do not use sun creams and comedogenic makeup * (the compact usually carries less oil). Do not oversaturate the skin of products: less is more. Avoid ingredients such as mineral fatty acids like paraffin or silicone oils.

↓ Do not expose yourself to the sun in excess. It worsens the skins that have infection.

↓ Avoid stress. It can cause more oil on the skin.

↓ Avoid tobacco (it has a negative influence on the hair follicle and sebaceous glands) and alcohol (it is related to oxidation and inflammation processes).

↓ Reduce the consumption of fast food, processed foods, saturated fats, trans fats, sugars …, which can stimulate the production of sebum.

↑ Clean your skin with specific products for this type of skin and maintain the natural hydrolipidic layer of the skin. After exercise and after sweating, wash your skin thoroughly. If the hair is oily, do not hesitate to wash it frequently and with a suitable gel.

↑ Apply specific creams for these skins, that avoid the obstruction and keratinization of the pores, with solar protection.

↑ Consume vegetables, fruits and foods rich in vitamins, trace elements and phytonutrients (carrots, squash, avocados, blackberries, peppers, citrus fruits, red fruits … among many others), with antioxidant properties, as well as foods rich in omega-3 (blue fish , nuts, spinach, pumpkin seeds …).

↑ Consume foods that improve the intestinal flora: foods rich in fiber and probiotics (yogurt, kefir …).

↑ Practice moderate exercise. The aerobic eliminates fats and toxins. The anaerobic, stress.

↑ Frequently clean the pillowcase. Preferably choose natural fabrics that breathe well, avoiding friction.

* Comedogenic: products that can cause the obstruction of the pores of the skin, forming black and white spots. Products that may be comedogenic are: lanolin and derivatives, petroleum jelly, petroleum mineral oils, wheat germ oil, emollients (isocetyl stearate, isopropyl myristate), emulsifiers (polyethylene glycol, propylene glycol) …
